We believe in one God, Father, Son, and Holy Spirit, and in Jesus Christ as our Savior and
Lord. We make the reading and study and proclamation of the Word of God as found in the
scriptures of the Old and New Testaments central to all our life and work.
To engage in personal study and spiritual discipline at home, here are some suggestions for participants in the life of West End Presbyterian Church:
Group Bible Studies
Groups meet on Monday night and Tuesday morning to study identical biblical passages each week.
Advance preparation for the study is helpful though not required.
New participants are always welcome.
Read ahead in the Bible the lectionary passages for the coming Sunday.
Sunday sermons are regularly based on these readings.
The Adult Sunday School class focuses on them.
You may also wish to use the daily lectionary for personal devotions.
A Daily Prayer app prepared by the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) is available for both iPhone and Android devices. For information and a sneak preview, click here.
On Wednesday evenings from 6:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m., there is an opportunity for community prayer in both English (in the sanctuary) and Spanish (in the chapel).
The weekly bulletin used in our Sunday worship lists the names of persons for whom we are asked to pray. Take the bulletin home with you to use as a prayer guide. If you wish to request prayer, contact our pastor or the church office (see information below).
